Over four months, the Women’s Health & Wellbeing Fund portfolio expanded access to maternal healthcare, reproductive health services, obstetric fistula treatment, and humanitarian aid for women and girls worldwide. Together, participating nonprofits increased access to life-changing surgeries, delivered reproductive health supplies in crisis settings, strengthened emergency response efforts, and advanced programs promoting dignity, safety, and healthy futures for women across more than 150 countries.

Themes Across The Portfolio

Maternal Health & Obstetric Fistula Care
Fistula Foundation dramatically expanded access to life-changing surgery, surpassing 13,000 funded fistula repairs while growing both its global surgical network and country reach. Awareness efforts surrounding International Day to End Obstetric Fistula helped mobilize additional support for women living with preventable childbirth injuries.
Humanitarian Reproductive Health
USA for UNFPA continued delivering reproductive health services and emergency supplies across humanitarian crises, supporting women and families affected by conflict, displacement, and natural disasters. Dignity Kits, Emergency Birth Kits, and maternal care remained central to the portfolio’s emergency response.
Emergency Response & Crisis Adaptation
The portfolio demonstrated rapid responses to emerging crises, including Ebola preparedness efforts in the Democratic Republic of Congo and reproductive health support for women living near active conflict zones in Ukraine, Gaza, Afghanistan, and Lebanon.
Menstrual Health & Women’s Dignity
Programs expanded access to menstrual health supplies through Bloom. Period. and global Dignity Kit distributions, helping women and girls safely manage menstruation while maintaining dignity in humanitarian settings.
Advocacy & Public Awareness
International Women’s Day, Mother’s Day, Menstrual Hygiene Day, and International Day to End Obstetric Fistula served as key moments to increase awareness, engage supporters, and generate funding for maternal and reproductive healthcare worldwide.
Gender Equity & Family Wellbeing
Programs encouraged healthier family dynamics and community support through initiatives promoting shared caregiving, maternal health, and women’s long-term wellbeing, reinforcing that health outcomes improve when communities invest in gender equity.
